What is Purna Yoga?

The yoga festival was a real success, we had over 100 students in our classes all together between Tove and me.

Our booth was beautiful and I was happy and excited to see so many people interested in Purna Yoga. With so many passing by and stopping in, the most asked question was "What is Purna Yoga?" (fair enough).

And here is the answer. Purna Yoga is based on the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, Patanjali and the personal experience of Aadil Palkhivala and Savitri. Aadil to me a genius, was a student of BKS Iyengar, he was actually conceived through Iyengars help and was allowed to watch him teaching from 3 years on. When Aadil was 7 he was studying with Iyengar one on one. After teaching the Iyengar style for years, Aadil was looking for a more complete approach on yoga and co-founded Purna Yoga. Purna meaning complete teaches alignment based asana, nutrition adapted to our lifestyle today, philosophy integrated to the 21st century and meditation by Savitri. Savitri and Purna yoga teaches us that if we connect with our heart center and visualize a light, we start to recognize that we are this light, the soul which dwells in us, waiting to be discovered. Getting in touch with our soul, meaning becoming complete (purna) or united (yoga) should be our lifes purpose (dharma).

I hope many people will come and check out what we have to offer.
